Donald Trump to Skip FOX News Google Debate

FOX News is set to have a final Republican debate on Thursday before the Iowa caucuses and the Donald seems content in letting FOX play its games while he does his own thing. The front running Republican candidate says he will be skipping the debate and focus on having his own event to raise money for vets while the ratings for FOX take a dive.
It seems the main contention is that the debate will be moderated by FOX staple, Megyn Kelly. Kelly and Trump have been in feud mode for a while now and Trump does not believe that Kelly can be fair and balanced as a moderator, citing the August 2015 debate where Megyn Kelly asked Donald Trump some questions he didn’t care for.

It’s a bold move by Trump who, according to the latest polling, holds a slight razors edge in Iowa against fellow candidate Ted Cruz. So is missing the debate going to cost him Iowa next Monday? It all depends on what Donald Trump does during the debate. If Trump can get some good press he may luck out a victory in Iowa but either way holds a large poll lead in the New Hampshire primary. Let’s be honest, a lot of Trump fans are going to see his shunning of FOX News as brave and a rejecting of the establishment. This may play perfectly into the voters in Iowa who are further right than some other Republican base. This may even play up in a Presidential debate when he’s the guy that went against FOX.

At this point, Trump seems to be headed for the nomination and anything that will play well to a national audience is just good business on his part. If his goal is to grab some of those middling undecided voters, these types of stands will play well with them in showing he isn’t a FOX News darling. Imagining Donald Trump as President Trump used to be a hilarious “What if?” kind of thought. Now, the comedy is being stripped away and we’re left with a chest tightening “What if?” I mean really, what if?
